GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION

Club Days:
Sunday club afternoons recommence this Sunday 1 September 3-5pm. We roster two committee members on each weekend. The regional junior girls’ and boys’ teams are also invited to join in.
Organised club evenings are Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm. A committee member is on duty each Wednesday to organise matches for those members who attend. These club evenings do not take place during school holidays.
Club afternoons and evenings are an excellent opportunity for you to meet other members and enjoy some social tennis.
Other tennis and/or social activities are organised during the season and advertised in the club newsletter and on the club noticeboard.

PLEASE: ensure your footwear has Non-marking soles.

Court Availability
In addition to organised club evenings on a Wednesday from 7pm::
Senior members have priority playing rights after 6 pm Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday and Sundays, Note that the courts are booked for the junior coaching programme on Sunday mornings during school terms 4 and 1.
Midweek members’ playing rights are from 9 am to 3 pm weekdays.
Juniors’ playing rights are from 3 pm to 6 pm weekdays. The courts are booked for junior interclub coaching from Monday – Thursday after school.
Senior Interclub. (October – early December). The courts are required for senior interclub most Monday evenings from 5.45pm, Tuesday evenings from 6.45pm, and most Saturday mornings and/or afternoons. These times will be blocked out in the court booking system..
The courts may also be required at other times and notices in this regard are posted in the clubhouse, via a newsletter or club email and the courts booked via the website. These include interclub, club tournaments on scheduled weekends, and occasional private bookings.
Non-members: you may bring one non-member along once or twice. After that, the non-member would be expected to join the club.

For non-club organised play, (and excluding bookings that have been made online), a 20-minute playing rule applies when the courts are full i.e. if you are playing and others members arrive, invite them to make up a doubles game if you have been playing singles. Otherwise, the first group on court should cease play 20 minutes after the other members arrive.

Court bookings:
You can now book courts via the website. Simply go to the web address: http://www.ngaiotennis.co.nz/ and click on Court Bookings.
It is requested you print out and bring down the confirmation of your booking when you come to the courts to play.
Members who have booked a court via the website take precedence over members coming down to play without a booking confirmation.
Please note: if there are 4 or less of you wishing to play, out of consideration for others, and bearing in mind there are only two courts, please only book one court. If you arrive and find both courts are empty then by all means use them both – but if other players arrive (even if they have not booked online) please then occupy one court only.

Junior Court Booking policy:
Courts can be booked by juniors between 3-6pm weekdays in the winter months.

Down by the stream:
Seniors: when retrieving balls from down the bank by the stream, please take care not to trample the planning.
Juniors: please do not retrieve balls from down the bank by the stream at all.

Clubhouse matters
Lights: Please ensure that you turn both light switches off (both in the same position) when exiting the clubrooms. These are located just inside the back door by the men’s toilets. The lights nearest the kitchen will turn off immediately, whereas the lights in the carpeted part of the clubrooms are on a sensor and will remain on for a period before turning off automatically If you have opened any windows, please ensure that they are closed
Deadlocking the door. Please ensure that the door is deadlocked when exiting the clubrooms. This means that you have to physically lock the door with the key on the inside so the lock part doesn’t move before pulling the door firmly shut.
Window blinds: Please note that the two blinds in the area where the BBQ is stored have been repaired. Please follow the instructions for operating them.
Ranch slider locks/handles: Please ensure the front ranch slider lock is snibbed as well as the bolt (at the top) being locked.
